Susan Shapiro

Susan B. Shapiro is an award-winning Manhattan journalist and writing professor. She is the bestselling author/coauthor of books her family hates that have been translated into 12 languages, including Unhooked, American Shield, The Bosnia List, The World in Between, The Forgiveness Tour, and Five Men Who Broke My Heart, recently optioned for a movie. She has written for The New York Times, The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal, Slate, Salon, Newsweek, The Cut, Wired, O, The Oprah Magazine, and The New Yorker. A longtime member of PEN, NBCC, ASJA, the Society of Professional Journalists, the Deadline Club, and the Jewish Book Council, she has taught popular writing and publishing courses at NYU, The New School, Columbia University’s MFA program, and online.
