[CANCELED] The Last Archive with Jill Lepore

07 May 2020
7:00 pm-8:30 pm
Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre
Symphony Space
2537 Broadway
New York, NY 10025

Who killed truth? Jill Lepore explores this mystery on her new podcast The Last Archive, and shows us how the elemental unit of knowledge in the West has changed: from mystery, to facts, to numbers and, now, to data. In the era of Google, the age of data, we no longer know how to evaluate facts in context, which means we are vulnerable to “alternative facts” and “fake news.” What are the implications of discarding truths for our politics, our knowledge of history, and our very national identity? Lepore talks to former editor-in-chief of Slate, Jacob Weisberg who, with Malcolm Gladwell, founded Pushkin Industries, producers of The Last Archive.

This event will take place at the Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre.

This event has been cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak. Please stay tuned for updates about future PEN World Voices Festival programming.
