John Irving, author of The World According to Garp, A Prayer for Owen Meany, The Cider House Rules, and, most recently, The Last Chairlift, has frequently explored the complexity and consequences of sexual politics in his boundary-pushing fiction. Irving will be joined in conversation by fellow novelist Charmaine Craig for a dialogue about the art of the novel, writing gendered power structures, and how writers’ artistic freedom has changed over the course of Irving’s decades-long career.
