Ahmed Naji


A writer and criminal from Egypt, Ahmed Naji has published two novels and a collection of short stories. An expert in disturbing public decency who was sentenced for two years for writing the novel Using Life, Naji received the PEN/Barbey Freedom To Write Award in 2016. He is currently a City of Asylum fellow at the Beverly Rogers, Carol C. Harter Black Mountain Institute in Las Vegas and is working on his new book.
