Asale Angel-Ajani


Asale Angel-Ajani has written and reported on the impact of incarceration and drug trafficking on the lives of women in Europe, West Africa and Asia for over 15 years. She is the author of Strange Trade, a book that chronicles the ordinary lives of African women navigating international trafficking rings and the foreign prisons that they are held in. Dr. Angel-Ajani has worked with a variety of human rights organizations and is currently the Director of Women’s Studies and a professor at the City College of New York (CUNY).
