Athena Farrokhzad is a poet, literary critic, translator, playwright, and teacher of creative writing. Farrokhzad’s first volume of poetry, Vitsvit, was published in 2013, and received several literary awards. The volume is being translated into Danish, Norwegian, Romanian, Spanish, and Arabic, and has been performed by the Swedish Radio Theatre and Unga Klara Theatre. Farrokhzad teaches creative writing at Biskops-Arnös Författarskola and has translated writers such as Adrienne Rich, Marguerite Duras, Monique Wittig, and Nicole Brossard into Swedish. In 2016, her second volume of poetry, Trado, written together with the Romanian poet Svetlana Cârstean, was published. Farrokhzad lives in Stockholm, Sweden.
