Carole Cadwalladr is an investigative reporter and feature writer for The Guardian and its sister paper, The Observer. In 2018, she broke the story of the Facebook–Cambridge Analytica data breach, revealing how Cambridge Analytica harvested the personal data of around 87 million Facebook users without their permission to target them with political ads during the 2016 election. It was the largest data breach in Facebook history.
