Jacob Weisberg


Jacob Weisberg is the CEO of Pushkin Industries, an audio production company focused on spreading the joy of podcasting, one episode at a time. He was previously CEO of the Slate Group, co-founder of Panoply, and editor-in-chief of Slate magazine. He has written for publications including The New York Times, The New Yorker, and the Financial Times. He is the author of several books and a lecturer at Yale University. Weisberg is vice-chair of the Committee to Protect Journalists and a member of the PEN Board, reflecting his long-standing involvement with issues of global press freedom and independent journalism.

The live events of the 2020 World Voices Festival have been canceled due to concerns about the safety of participants and audiences during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In early May, we launched the 2020 digital World Voices Festival at pen.org/worldvoicesdigital. This ongoing digital version of the Festival includes a suite of podcasts, videos, interviews, and musical playlists, with live events and other features to be rolled out over the coming weeks.
