Biography

Lin King is a writer and translator from Taipei, Taiwan. Her fiction has appeared in Boston Review and Joyland, among others, and has won the PEN/Robert J. Dau Short Story Prize for Emerging Writers. Her translations from Mandarin Chinese and Japanese into English have appeared in Asymptote, The Margins, and Columbia Journal. Her translation of Taiwanese writer Yang Shuang-zi’s latest novel is forthcoming from Graywolf Press, and her translation of a graphic novel series on the life of the Taiwanese former political prisoner Tsai Kun-lin is forthcoming from Levine Querido. Lin works for the Weatherhead East Asian Institute at Columbia University, where she previously taught undergraduate writing.
