Muna Tseng was born and raised in Hong Kong. She founded Muna Tseng Dance Projects in 1984 and has created over 20 productions and performed in over 30 cities and festivals in 15 countries. Awards include a Bessie: NY Dance and Performance for choreography/creation of SlutForArt with Ping Chong; repeat choreographic fellowships from both the National Endowment for the Arts and the New York Foundation for the Arts, and many commissioning grants. She has served on the selection committee for the annual Bessie New York Dance and Performance Award for the past six years. Muna Tseng is also the Creative Director for the Estate Archive of Tseng Kwong Chi, her late brother, a well-known conceptual-performative photographer.
