Nancy Morejón

Biography

Nancy Morejón is the most internationally successful and widely translated Cuban woman poet of the post-revolutionary period. Morejón was the first African Cuban student to take a degree in faculty of arts at Havana University, where she majored in French. One of the first Cuban women to celebrate blackness in poetry, Morejón has published widely as and is a celebrated writer, critic, and translator.
